So, you want to take a vacation and go see the national parks. All the pictures you’ve looked at seem really nice and everyone is having fun. You just don’t want to book a vacation and get stuck in either super hot weather, Spring Break, or Graduation crowds. Based on our experience, we can tell you what month is the best to visit Southern Utah.
If you’re concerned about crowds and weather, we recommend the either the month of June or September for your visit. The climate is usually ideal and you’re not fighting crowds as much as other months. Of course, it’s beautiful year round and the climate is pretty mild in all four seasons! A lot of the Utah locals migrate down here to Southern Utah in the winter months even.
Finally, no matter when you intend on traveling, you’ll want some essentials with you like: refillable water bottle, hat, good walking shoes, camera, and plenty of sunscreen! You can get burned even in the winter months, so cover up. A light backpack for snacks, extra water, and a poncho are also helpful. Don’t worry, though. We’ll let you know everything you need to bring with you so you’re prepared. As a Kanab, UT native, I’ve grown up in here and am prepared to care of you. I’m also CPR certified and wilderness survival trained. Since I’ve been a tour guide for over a decade and I live here, I can show you places off the beaten path where there are less crowds anyway!
